Location

Bejowan Barns is situated in the village of Quintrell Downs. Just two miles away from the lively town of Newquay, the cottages are ideally located to visit the beaches of the Cornish north coast. some of which we have listed below. The barns are in a beautiful countryside setting with easy access to explore the rest of Cornwall.

Fistral Beach (h3)

Fistral Beach is possibly the most popular beach in Newquay, Cornwall, and is a world class surfing venue. Fistral’s fine, sandy beach lies away from the hustle and bustle of Newquay’s town centre. A large, north-west-facing beach on the north Cornwall coast, it is the centre of the UK’s surf scene. Access to the beach is easy, with disabled access provided. Facilities include a large car park, refreshments kiosk, restaurant, shops, surfing/watersports facilities and toilets. The beach is a relatively short, scenic coastal walk from Newquay town centre. Dogs are not permitted on the beach from Easter to October. Lifeguards patrol the beach during peak seasons.

 

Lusty Glaze Beach and Adventure Centre (h3)

Sheltered by tall cliffs, Lusty Glaze is one of Cornwall’s finest family beaches. The beach lies in a picturesque north-west-facing cove, a setting which provides a safe, family-friendly environment. Facilities at the beach, which is privately owned, are excellent and include a café, crèche, shop, restaurant, bar, toilets and watersports hire. Beach huts are also available to hire. The cove is home to the National Lifeguard Training Centre and lifeguards patrol the beach during peak seasons. A small car park is situated by the beach but parking in Newquay town centre is preferable in the summer months. Access to the beach is via (difficult in places) cliff steps or via neighbouring Tolcarne Beach at low tide. There is no disabled access.

Crantock Beach (h3)

Crantock beach is a large, sandy beach near Newquay with extensive dunes, rock pools and caves to explore. Part of an extensive stretch of sands between the headlands of Pentire and West Pentire, Crantock is situated at the mouth of the River Gannel. Access to the beach is via steep dunes. A dog-friendly beach with a car park, Crantock beach is patrolled by lifeguards in peak seasons.

 

Porth Beach (h3)

Porth is a popular family beach. The large expanse of golden sand provides the ideal place for a family day out at the beach. The Atlantic swells off the beach also make Porth a popular destination for surfers. Car parking is available on the beach, and there is disabled access. Beach facilities include refreshments, shop and toilets. Lifeguards are in attendance during the peak summer season. Dogs are not permitted on the beach from Easter to October.
